Best show of the 80's? Well, I L-O-V-E this show, too. Check out the MOTB source as well. Other early 80's contenders that I also LOVE are:

1980-09-02 Buffalo
1980-09-04 Providence
1980-05-04 Baltimore
1980-05-10 Hartford
1980-12-14 Long Beach

1981 was a killer year. A couple others:
1981-09-26 Buffalo
1981-12-03 Madison
1981-12-31 Oakland (The whole run is spectacular)

1983 for some ooey-gooey
1983-04-22 New Haven
1983-10-15 Hartford
1983-10-21 Worcester

1984 for rich and chewy
Both Augusta shows
and the most underrated GD concerts of the decade? The Philly Civic Center. Wow, what a run!

And if writers below want to include the entire Brent era? I don't think any of these hold a candle to any of the 13 shows between 1990-03-14 and 1990-03-30. That run has got to considered the culmination of the 11-year run of that band configuration and also the best run since Spring '77 or even earlier. The band is luminous and makes even old warhorses sound fresh again. Brent is playing like one of the lower deities and the rest of the band just tries to keep up. Garcia, especially, seems to take the challenge very well and Lesh is downright bubbly and percolating on bass of that era. Jesus, it's good stuff.
